Oil Prices

Even if it did, would have bugger all impact at the pumps. Petrol prices seem to increase with oil prices, but never decrease with them. Funny that, isn't it?

Emma Pinnock, energy analyst at Inenco, sees the oil price dropping back below $100 a barrel within days if not sooner, as markets realign supply and demand.

"Ultimately the price increases that we saw of almost 12% since the beginning of 2011, due to instability in the Middle East, the Japanese earthquake and the nuclear crisis, were not sustainable," she said.

"The poor economic data released from the US and Europe has confirmed fears that the recent high commodity prices could affect global demand."

Its nice to see it dropping a bit, but its still only the same as Feb/March levels.

It would be good to have the pump price back at those levels. I have seen prices of fuel consistently rise by 1p/week over the past 5-6 weeks with a 2p rise in 6 days once!!!

Brent Crude is currently up 2.79%, an intraday drop from $1.20 to $1.10 hardly constitutes a crash anyway!

No, but a drop from above $120 to below $105 in the space of 3 days certainly does, which is what has happened - it's recovered a bit now to $110.

We're moving back to the ongoing depression, it's only been masked by increasing money supply recently. Why is today different from summer 2008? I'd say the fundamentals haven't changed. Gotta wonder though, where's the money going that is fleeing most commodities?
