Just bought an LED tv and a hdmi cable for my xbox then realised when i got home that my xbox doesnt have a hdmi port on it! What can i do or do i just have to put up with using the standard scart cable?

some say vga has washed out colours while component isn't as sharp. its up to you. my toshiba 37" lcd looks fine with component compared to my mate running his LG with component.

Both are good. I use VGA because im running on a monitor and the picture is really nice. Depending on your set up though getting sound out of the vga connection might be tricky because the cable feeds off to two audio points.

Probably as well just going for component leads tbh.

Tried both, I always use VGA. Using component you can adjust the sharpness but I never find it looks as good as the VGA connection.

Buy xbox 250gb slim for £159 with either Halo Reach or Fable 3. Trade old one in for games or keep it for another room.

i literally asked 5UB about the xbox HD VGA cable a couple of days ago in the customer servicesection, and he said he'd look into what he can do about stocking it, and prices, because they used to be stocked apparently.

i've just updated my thread directing 5UB here as well

oh, and the official xbox HD VGA cable comes with an adapter to convert the red/white audio into a 3.5mm jack (going by several reviews on this rainforest where people have bought an adapter for the audio, and said that it came with one already)

I never felt like VGA had washed out colours in the slightest. I use HDMI now for ease of use since I got an AV receiver with HDMI switching but I carried on using VGA until then.

Picture wise I've never noticed any difference at all. Never used component so can't comment, but the official VGA cable always looked tip top to me.

I have used these cables myself and they work great, as Reaper said, I am looking into these as to if we can stock them again.

If I rem correctly there is an official HDMI cable/adapter for the old 360's ? Could he not use that ?
