I filled in my pond a few weeks ago which had a decorative brick exterior. I also removed a patio at the same time. The result is quite a lot of hardcore and rubble which is currently piled up alongside of the garden. I have so far filled up 3 rubble bags and it's hardly made a dent.

I did advertise the hardcore on freecycle and someone came to collect the intact paving stones, but the less usable stuff remains.

Short of paying out and getting a skip (expensive!) are there any other things I can try? I might advertise it on ebay as being free for collection only. It's a long shot and everything is taking time. I need to get on for the next stage of the master plan!

Good luck with the eBay thing. How much are you talking about though? A Skip is the easier, but there are companies that offer a removal service.

pay for the skip or fill your pockets with it and drop it when they let you out on exercise breaks...

I can't tell you what you should do without giving the same answers as above. But I do know what you should have done....

Check the local paper: there are often guys who will take it all to the tip for you for a smallish fee (hopefully not flytipped somewhere).

your local council should have a "bulky rubbish" collection you can use something like 3 times a year for free.
google your area + bulky rubbish

they usually have limits on what they will take at a time though but its better than nothing :P you can probably get rid of more than a few bags for free

As well as the council check out your local recycling place (if you have a car), some of them accept rubble.

Check local adverts, there is usually a guy with a van who will take anything no questions asked.

I thi9nk you can buy skip bags at hardware stores, collection is built into the cost just phone the company up when the bag is filled and they will collect it

Phone all you local builders and tell them you have some free hardcore, they just need to collect it.

Most builders won't be interested in it unless its been cleaned and passed through a brick crusher. Hardcore is so cheap from the quary anyway, is sand blinded and is delivered. Get a small skip.
