Just a sympathy thread really. I just am not at all enthusiastic about it- not having any party etc etc. Need someone to tell me its not all bad & stop being a big girls blouse!

Time moves forward no matter what, there is literally nothing you can do about it.

Don't worry about the number, the only thing that matters is whether you are happy with what you have achieved so far and with what you do in the future.

Also... have a party!!

Its terrible! You're going to die!!!! If this was Logans Run you'd be prepping properly!
Tbh I'm 28 and havent celebrated a birthday since 25 (which was rubbish). Loads of people are asking me how I feel coming up to 30, but a birthday is a birthday, its just a number to record how long you've survived. Its not even considered middle aged any more. Our generation will easily live to 80, which means middle age doesnt hit till 40.
The only person it has to mean anything to is you, so if it doesnt, then dont worry.

*edit holy shizzle, no one else had posted when I started typing lol.

30s are brilliant, you're not much older than your 20s but you are typically better off, so can do more exciting things and to be honest most people I know are probably happier in their 30s than 20s. I think you grow into your (adult) personality in your 30s, without needing to actually grow up.

30 huh, *sighs* would love to be 30 again *sighs again* ... well its now time to pack away the transformer toys in to the loft and man up to the fact that you'll soon be turning in to an 'old git' :D.

I suppose there's just two possibilities; that you get older, or that you don't. Sucks, eh. Try to enjoy it!

The age itself isn't scary (I'm 32 now), but more the fact that a lot of your oldskool mates are now married and have kids etc.

Very true. It's been kinda funny watching all my friends on Facebook settle down and have kids at the same time!

Also, I remember that my grandfather was killed in action during WW2 at the stupidly young age of 23. Puts any '30 blues' into perspective for me.
