Is PSN under attack? - PSN now back up 15/05

I'm hoping this kicks up enough of a fuss so it makes it illegal for them to store any of your card information on their servers or your console.

Really what is the need for them to store your information except for convenience?

Just heard on radio1 that sony had to remove 1000 peoples infomation off a website...would have liked to see that list incase i was on it

There's something like 20million PSN user accounts, the odds of you being one are miniscule.

Also, they were details from a SOE, not PSN, database from back in 2002 so likely out of date.

Thoughtit was near 100m between psn and soe, didnt use soe till 2004

You know, have not complained about this whole saga yet, but I would really like to be able to register my copy of Portal 2 and get access to my PC copy now.

Just wish Valve would let us simply enter the code to download the game, considering PSN been down so long with no bloody end in sight.

Why would it be illegal for them to store your details?

If a bank got robbed then are they not allowed to handle money anymore? lol

Despite what the interweb says, Sony will at least have the minimum requirements that are needed to store personal data. I haven't even cancelled my card because I don't think it is that big of a deal that people are making out. The latest rumour is that the data stolen was from a sony website which was created in 2001.

I would be really happen if it came up tonight or by the weekend but I would rather then sorted out their problems first. They have already promised two free games and a few other treats for a `free service` being down. Doesn't sound too bad to me.

I think at most it is annoying or frustrating but if anyone jumps ship to go to xbox I don't really think we will miss a few drama queens from the network.

So we get free games, free ps+ and we get rid of the drama queens from the network...:D

If only it went down earlier :p

Few people have been in to game and traded their PS3's for Xbox's.

Yeah, a Game employee I know said there have been more PS3 trade-ins than is normal lately. You can't blame folk who only have the PS3. It's not too bad if you have other platforms to use.

I understand peoples frustrations but mine are minor, i just want to get my dragon age 2 dlc but im 10 hours on now i migjt aswell save it to get a little bit more when i sell/trade it

main reason i want it back soon is ive just picked up demons souls again and i want to start invading people, also just got ea create and id like to try some user created levels

I think the whole free psn+ will be for sonys benefit as they can keep updating and people wont have to keep going offline if they can get automatic updates.

Any news/rumours of the free games? I would personally prefer the value in psn £££ but i expect it will be a choice of a few sony psn games which i wont groan at as they are free
