Did a no budget spec at lunch - the range of prices of between certain components now compared to the past seem all over the place. The CPU was only around £250 (i7 SB) and 12Gb of RAM around £150. Yet the 30" Dell monitor surpassed £1k and 6 hard drives came to about £1.5k.

Nice. Shame that hundreds or even thousands of people will have had the same idea, spreading your potential jackpot pretty thin!
the best way to maximise your potential winnings (without affecting your chances at all) is to take completely random numbers (using a generator, preferably a real RNG), while making sure that around 2/5ths of those numbers are over 31. This pushes you out of the crowd that only use birthdays as numbers and ensures that your numbers are actually random (as opposed to "randomly" picking them yourself)

I think I'd give £20m to my parents, £20m to each of my brothers and keep £20m for myself. The remaining £5m I'd like to divide amongst friends and colleagues but I think I'd be worried that some undesirable types might find out about my new wealth and try to obtain it by extortion.
At least £10m of my £20m would be invested somewhere nice and safe. I'd live off the rest but keep working at my current job. I'd probably buy a car (and learn how to drive), a flat, and take a few foreign holidays a year.
