Newspapers

I generally think that Sun readers are stupid or have no interest in actual news and are just after page three.

Definitely is the stereotype and probably true for the most part. I like reading the sun at lunch, it's not really news, just some stories that are often pretty funny. The Scottish football coverage is good too. If I've spent the whole morning working hard the last thing I want to do is go and read a long in depth story about why the world is falling apart, or some dry political piece in one of the broadsheets.

Also it's only 30p :p

haha, yes, The Sun is written to a very basic level, and is more of a crappy magazine than a newspaper. But it's easy reading on the train in the morning. I'll get the "actual" news off the internet when I get to work..

I read the Grauniad, actually find it less smugly liberal than the Independent. Given that I am a smug liberal, however, the Guardian's level of it is about right for me. The independent had too many 'Don't shop at Tesco you Nazi' and 'Why aren't you growing your own vegetables, you complete ****'-type articles for me.
However, the i is a cracking little paper and is the one I go for if I need a paper and I'm travelling or something. The Graun is too bulky for travelling reading.

I love the i paper. It's bloody awesome for the price, usually read it back to back on my lunch break when in work. Better value for money than the Sun/Star/Express/Mirror/Mail which are quite frankly utter turd on so many levels.

I read the Daily Mail, I need to know what to be angry about every so often to keep up with the times.

The Independent is stupid for not reporting on the Royal Family. Wasn't it when Lady Diana died they didn't even mention it!?

The Guardian is just retarded. The Daily Mail is comically stupid and is good for a laugh, but the Guardian isn't even funny.

I do not think the word liberal, means what some people think it means.

Classical liberalism for example is free markets, less regulation and less state AKA Conservative style.

I support classical liberalism as i believe free markets are the best way for social mobility and allocating resources, but i also support what most people would consider as socially left ideas.

Ok, but what papers do you read?

I've gone back to The Times now. I bought it yesterday and today, it's certainly better quality than the Independent.
And the sport seems to be back to it's high standards. Michael Atherton is about the only Columnist that i would read tbh.

Daily mail readers are xenophobic, uneducated but at least have the interest in news, even if they can't see that their views are deeply flawed.

This is depressingly accurate, to the point where most want "blacks out, thatcher in" :(

Oh I used to buy the Guardian at uni for 20p but I dont usually pick up a paper now out of a lack of interest.
