What happened....

To the rule of no hook titles? Or was that just something i wish existed? Topic titles really need to be at least slightly relevant to the content

Yeah, this is one of the few lately that has relevancy in the first line of the post, often threads start with some kind of life story before getting to a point :\

I didn't know there was such a rule, and the title is relevant, it is asking what happened, and the OP expands on that....

As for alt.text, I don't even know what that means, it must be my age and lack of geek I suppose...

You can just click on the thread and get the gist of it in about five seconds, too. Let's not get too strict about things: it's not like we need rules for every situation here.

Remember, that's how the 13th century Mongols got such a bad reputation: too many rules on their forums. Sure, it started all nice and free, then suddenly you couldn't even post a "Spec Me A Long Moustache" thread or say "decapitate him from orbit" when a fellow warrior posted in the "Pictures of Your Latest Captive" thread. :rolleyes:

After thinking about it, I can only assume that it means the little pop up when you hover over the thread title.

But that is only my assumption and I can't be bothered to google it.

I think it means if you hover your mouse over the thread title, it'll give you a sneak preview of the thread's content
