New BMW M Series Bicycle

i just don't see the point of it really but the spec and weight are pretty spot on at the price they are marketing it at.
True, but it seems odd to go to the trouble of designing a carbon bike and sticking an M badge on it which is supposed to suggest the top of the line hardcore model with BMW, when it's nowhere near as desirable as other road bikes which can cost 3 times as much from other manufacturers. If anything it's just a mid-range road bike, a 325D with a few extras ticked.

Ducati did this years ago. The bikes themselves looked quite nice but bang per buck spec wise they were overpriced :-

Really though? I'd say that it is about the M3 of road bikes. Yes there are better bikes, but there are much more exotic cars than the M3 too, as well as a plethora of cheaper bikes/cars for less money than each.

If BMW had a range of bike you would expect it to have dura ace/red on it as the halo model but as it stands it's the road bike they do they have kept it sensible. For a Felt or cannondale with ultegra on a carbon frame you're up at £2.5/3k so a bit above where this is at.

I posted this in motors as I thought it would be of more interest to people in there.

Why has it been moved? - Its nothing to do with sports and was posted based on the M Series connection

An M Series BMW road bike. What does the M stand for - 'Muppet' bike :p

I'll take a Specialized McLaren Venge over this ;)

Lol, most BMW drivers are cyclist haterZ, along with Audi drivers, Merc etc. What makes BMW think they'll ever sell any of these? :p
