The new WD20EARS-60MVWB0 comes with a new problem where it dont show the temp of the drive for some reason.
Why would that be a problem? as it does not affect the operation of the drive in anyway.

Ok guys i went for the WD caviar green.
Can someone tell me what i have to do to get this 100% working; does the firmware need updating or it is just that idle-time thing?

Did i say it would be a problem i dont think so![]()
ofc you did. read your post lol.![]()
As said above, buy two, 2tb is a lot of data to lose
No i didnt i just said it comes with its own problem i didnt say it would matter when using the drive![]()
Windows 7 aligns drives with 4k sectors correctly if they actually tell Windows they have 4k sectors (like SSDs). If the drive is telling Windows it has 512k sectors (like the WD Greens) then it obviously won't know align it correctly. Thanks that is exactly what i was after. Though i was under the impression that as long as you are using win7 and not XP the align work automatically?
Also where do i get the programs you suggested; for the paragon it seems there is only a pay-version? Thanks
