To all those that have been cared for by the NHS it undoubtedly had a nurse involved. Today is Florence Nightingales birthday and has thus been deemed Nurses Day.

Cheers to all my fabulous colleagues that make my job what it is....wouldn't be the job it is with out you guys!

This is a positive thread please keep it that way.

I had an 11 month stay in hospital while recovering from a Spinal Cord Injury and the nursing staff that looked after me were nothing short of amazing.

I have a deep respect for all Nurses as they are the true heroes and heroines of the NHS and make it what it is.

The ones that took care of me when I was in intensive care and the regular ward afterwards were all very nice. One was even a friend of my mums. :)

Kudos to them. They work long mostly thankless hours. Cant be an easy job.

Wonderful people... I have so much respect for nurses, teachers and carers, they do jobs that I could never handle.

Does this mean there'll be loads of Nurses out celebrating later ?

Any bloke that lives in a town with a nursing college or big hospital needs to take a shower & head down town, Sharpish. :D

You gotta love our Nurses so reward them with the attention they deserve.

Thanks for this, just sent the only nurse I know a text to celebrate.
She's absolutely lush, in every way, and that includes doing a very hard and very often thankless job. And I really need to help her unwind again ;)

Spent an impromptu night last night in St Thomas' Hostpital, staff were great, very much behind a day that recognises the hard job they do!
