Hi - I am looking for new rig and selling mine. I was thinking of i5 cpu but saw this 2nd hand rig for sale - nice but older technology- what do you think?

Cheers:

Intel 3.0Ghz Quad Core processor (45nm, Yorkfield)
Internal DVD RW+-
Internal BLU Ray Player
Thermalright Ultra 120 Heatsink with 120mm Fan and Carbon Fibre Mount
4GB Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz with Triple Fan and Heat Sink
XFX NVIDIA 780i Tri SLi Motherboard with Tri-SLi Bridge, 8GB DDR2 Capacity.
2x XFX NVIDIA GTX 280 1GB GDDR3 DX10
1x EVGA GTX 280 1GB GDDR3 DX10
300GB 10,000 RPM WD Velociraptor HDD
Corsair HX 1000W Tri SLi Modular Dual Rail Power Supply

Looks a bargain at that price, from a friend you know or ebay, gumtree, etc? You getting any warranty? Only downside is where you go with future upgrades. What you looking to do with it games wise, resolutions etc?

Gaming mainly.
My current set up, which is for sale is a Qx6850, with 2 x 460 gtxs SLI'd so I guess it wouldn't be much of an upgrade, just a slightly better chip. I agree with you that there is no room for an upgrade without changing MOBO, CPU and memory.
Cheers

is there really any point buying it then just stick with your gtx 460's psu case etc and just buy new cpu, mobo and ram could spec a decent i5 2500k for around £350

If buying a new mobo, I'd look at Z68. You could then upgrade later with a small (<60GB) SSD to use the RST (SSD caching) feature, seriously boosting HDD speed.

That said, since the Z68 launch, there are some tempting deals on P67 mobos.
