Tesco Returns Policy

Yeah I wondered about that. I've come accross strict returns policys with phones before, but not games, yet. Aren't they supposed to warn you when you purchase it that "this item has X returns policy" if it's different to their usual returns policy?

But anyway, OP: Asking Tesco > asking GD. :p

I'm fairly sure Tesco's does say that games are only returnable if they're faulty, somewhere on or around the games section.

HMV and Asda both do good trade-ins on new games, and both Game and Gamestation often do "Get [brand new game] for £5 if you trade in [specific new game]", might be worth having a look.

Scratch the disc and say you couldnt play it, tesco are really good with returning stuff!

but then if they wont accept it ur screwed!

idk but im sure some way you could return it.

And so called "pirates" grab the headlines  You said yourself you read the reviews, deal with your poorly thought out purchase.
most reviewers only give positive scores because if they dont they wont get to review a copy next time.

why do you think everygame from one of the big companies always gets atleast a 7 even a half good game can get a 9 these days....

What you gunna do next, buy a different kind of bread take out a few slices then take it back because you dont like the taste?

Returns are there for a reason and this is not it.

Actually yes, you can do that under most supermarket return policies with any food that they sell.

'If you are unhappy for *ANY* reason, simply bring it back for a refund, and / or purchase'.

I'm not sure how it works with games these days, but I've bought and returned lots of games in the past that turned out to be complete crap.

I did this before with a game. I just went shop to shop until one gave me a refund without a receipt. Dixons won - cash refund for a game bought in a completely different shop.

I understand what peopleare saying but I didn't buy this game on impulse, I read eurogamers review which a trust and they gave it an 8/10 saying it was better than the first. A few people on here also gave it good feedback. However it's carp! It's worst than the first in my opinion and I thought that was an ok game!

I'm truly annoyed and will be going to tesco shortlyz.

Waaaa, waaaaa, waaaaaa.

Why should Tesco take the financial loss because you didnt like the game?

What are they supposed to do with your now second hand game after you've lied to them in order to get a refund?

Return it to their supplier, perhaps?

Would it not make sense for each member in the supply chain to have a returns process in place for faulty / substandard goods? It traverses back through the chain and eventually ends up back in the hands of the manufacturer. Thus, the manufacturer absorbs the loss.

Honestly dude just take it back and try it. If you listened to half the high horse parade in here you would be thanking tescos.

On what grounds? It isn't fault.

It isn't faulty, and he said the reviews and other peoples opinions were ok. So, clearly, it just isn't too his tastes.

Tough break.

So returned it i tesco for two brand new sealed copies as they can't exchange it for anything but the original game if it's faulty. Paid £38.00 for it and have now blagged Game to swap it ad said I lost my receipt. However it's on offer at £29.99 and should be £40.00. Hmmphhh however Tesco returned my original receipt and never got mento sign anything when I exchanged the games so I suppose I could wait for a new assistant and go in an swap the games.

Just wow.

So now you are trying to swap it at a completely different retailer?!

(Swap is different to trade in, for which GAME would offer you much less, so did you tell them you bought it from GAME or something?)

Made zero sense.

Translation:

Tesco wouldnt give him a refund but offered to swap it for two new copies of the same title (After all, if the game was faulty, then you'd want another so you could play it). He accepted this and now has two sealed copies rather than two second hand copies. Tesco will presumably now lose out when they send back two non-faulty games as faulty.

So he went to GAME and said he'd lost his receipt. GAME therefore, as an act of Goodwill (Something it would seem is lost on the OP), offered to exchange the games for him but because he has no receipt it would be at the current till price, which is £29.99.

Just.. fail.

I still have the original receipt from Tesco. I can just go back there and exchange the brand new games for something better when another assistant is on the till.
