AMD 955 BE vs Intel I5 2400 - Round 1 Fight

i didnt buy them, i inherited them...

i want to compare them because they are the two CPUS i have lying about which can be put into this computer im making for a mate !

I've used the Phenom 2 before and its fine for most games but the two games which my mate wants to play both perform considerably better with Intel Chips from what i've read (Arma 2 and Iracing)

I wish I could inherit a Core i5 2400 or a Phenom II X4 955BE! :D

I think you answered your question there! :p

Having said that I know people who run StarCraft II on AMD CPUs fine and it seems to prefer Intel CPUs too.

Anyway, since you won't be overclocking the Core i5 it would be better for your mates build(less potential support issues).

ok one more quick question... some guy i know wants to buy the AMD Phenom 2 + a Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P motherboard.

What is a fair price to sell these for second hand, both are about a year old but in perfect condition etc.

you can't even tell me how much second hand components are worth even though the money i'll get from them will be going straight back to overclockers to beef up my own PC ?

what an utterly bizarre and pointless rule, cant someone just PM me how much they are worth second hand ?

i accept the rule, just want to try and understand the utterly bizarre logic behind it

its not like i can sell it on overclockers is it, they aren't losing any business.
