While moving one of my led strips, I managed to pinch the wire in the case when putting the side back on... I heard a soft 'pop' or 'click' and the lock lights on the keyboard flashed... now it won't power on :(

What's likely to be dead? PSU, or more?

Thanks guys

HAHAHA I so fail at diagnostics!!

Traced the plug up to the back of the pc, only to find that the plug had fallen out of the back of the PSU!

All the moving of the case must've worked it loose and with impecable panic-inducing timing, it dropped out, giving a little 'burp' to the system at the exact moment I slid the case side into place - naturally I assumed I clipped the wire as it was right next to where the case sits on its runners...

Hey ho, stupid "OMG" post there... all's good in the end I guess lol

*shamed* *awaits the torrent of **** takers!!*

^^ LOL!

Yeah, but I wasn't touching plugs or any of the components, just cutting two zip-ties and moving a LED strip through 90 degrees - five second job...

I always leave it plugged in, but I usually turn the mains plug off. Didn't this time as it was such a quick job and couldn't be bothered getting under the desk lol - I will in future though!!

ahh. No harm done then. Quite a happy ending however, could have been a lot worse.

Lol but how many have had the twitchy moment they forgot they had flipped the PSU switch and everythings dead on trying to turn it on, I usually do this a couple of times a month a few puzzled moments of hitting the power switch and it usually dawns on me though.

I had a few minutes between 'brown-trouser time' and the start of my actual 'diagnostics' (looking at it) because my son woke up just before I thought I'd killed it, so I thought I'd chill and settle him off to sleep again and posted on here via my phone before I actually looked at it

I did think about pretending I'd genuinely broken it, but decided it'd be good for a laugh ;)
