The story does continue on from the events in the first game and the choices you made have an effect in the sequel. The developers themselves however have said you do not need to play the first.

Is it possible to download the ISO and load it into steam so I don't have to download from steam on tuesday? Its 14gb and I want to actually play it on release day.

mmm tempted with this - but have been revisiting the Witcher 1 and struggling a bit

okI'm cheating as I've got bored severaltimes trying to go through the initial(boring to me) missions/tutorial

so downloaded a savegame- end of Act1

butgame seems very convoluted with lots of having to go to X to get Y to give to Z etc?

didn't feel so much like that for me in DA - which seemed more combat orientated?

got mine today in Tesco, 2 days early :) installing now and hoping its playable being early - will let you know

Yes theyve said its xbox 360 controller compatible

Cool. Because I've always found 3rd person games akward with a mouse and keyboard. Hate using wsad when in 3rd person, feels clunky. Thats just me though. Really need 8 directional control that can only be had with an analogue stick. Plus, I remember seeing a wheel select screen, that surely has something to do with playing it with a controller?

whether you use k/m or use controller, both will use radial menu menu. there are strong hints this game will come to consoles so i think thats why they implemented this idea. people who have written little reviews on this game have said the radial menu isnt anooying or "consolized" in any way, shape or form and actualy works quite well ingame

So, the picture I posted was of two sex toys from the medieval era?

Would kinda hurt. Females must have been really hardcore back then.

Ignore him, he admitted to not understanding the story despite being halfway through :p

I know there are occasional lapses in translation, but if you pay attention to the cutscenes you'll know the basics. It doesn't spoonfeed to you because there'd no mystery left (like when you're trying to figure out who the Salamandra leader is or what Berengar was doing).
