Tesco Returns Policy

Why did you open both games? You should have tried out one of them, and then you'd be able to take the second back. The best you can do now is sell them on eBay.

Edit: I didn't see the second page of posts.

So you have now defrauded two companies.

Congratulations.
This :(

most cinemas you can get a refund if a movie is a turd and you walk out!

we lose more and more consumer rights with games going digital imo

really? I tried to get a refund because we couldn't get any seats except at the very front - they said if we had seen any of the film, we couldnt get a refund. luckily only trailers were showing.

Why would they do that when they want to play with each other (ooerr)
Well it would have meant that the OP could have tested one game and easily got a refund for the other... anyway, my question's irrelevant as I've realised the OP has already returned the games.

Good on you OP.

I have to laugh at some of the people on here, butter wouldn't melt in their mouth.

I've found when returning things a smile and a good attitude works an absolute charm, just don't be tempted to go in guns blazing. Also, making a beeline a female assistant usually helps!

Really? So what makes the difference between this type of fraud and someone fraudulently using your credit card to pay for something for £80?

Sure you wouldnt like to be on the other end.

Fraud is fraud is fraud.

End of.

Dont forget, Shep is a seasoned troll and is trolling again here. You may remember him from such threads as "I sold my car to save money but now ive bought another dearer car".

lol how can you compare those 2 entirely different things...

They are not different - They are both examples of fraud, to the same value.

The only difference is one is against an individual and one is against a company.

People seems to think it is "OK" when its against a big company.

Truth is the rest of us end up paying for it through higher prices, since it is factored into pricing policies.

Simply, it is not OK, no matter how you dress it up.

I have literally NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER about ripping a large company off if I feel they have screwed me over. eg, Dell - they kept saying they were going to do things but they didn't and left me without a comp for weeks. I made sure they sent an engineer out and told them quite a few things were failing, they replaced them and let me keep the old ones!
Karma!

I would NEVER rip somebody off on the MM as they have done nothing to me and it's not like they can cover their losses if they send me something and I don't pay for it. That's just being an absolute *** IMO.

As for games, I will admit to getting some illegally - but if I liked the game, I will buy it. If I don't, I delete it. Stops major corps screwing you over

LOL @ The suggestions of fraud.

Idiots.

You bought something. You played it. You didnt like it. Deal with it.

What you gunna do next, buy a different kind of bread take out a few slices then take it back because you dont like the taste?

Returns are there for a reason and this is not it.
Very technically it's a product designed to provide entertainment??
Clearly it's not doing so in this case, therefore not fit for purpose?

And where do Tesco fall into this? They just sold a game he didn't like, hardly screwing him over.

On what grounds? It isn't fault.

It isn't faulty, and he said the reviews and other peoples opinions were ok. So, clearly, it just isn't too his tastes.

Tough break.
To be fair, tesco will just say to the maker, "you're taking this back" and they will.

Translation:

Tesco wouldnt give him a refund but offered to swap it for two new copies of the same title (After all, if the game was faulty, then you'd want another so you could play it). He accepted this and now has two sealed copies rather than two second hand copies. Tesco will presumably now lose out when they send back two non-faulty games as faulty.

So he went to GAME and said he'd lost his receipt. GAME therefore, as an act of Goodwill (Something it would seem is lost on the OP), offered to exchange the games for him but because he has no receipt it would be at the current till price, which is £29.99.

Just.. fail.
To be fair Game may upsell him to another game and sell the sealed game to someone else??? PROFIT.

I was thinking more that the game developer was. Tesco can deal with the loss, however I would accept that they did nothing to me and just sell at a loss.

Also, i was thinking more about the last bit i wrote :D

I think the thing people are missing here is it isn't Tesco that will make the loss here, they just return the faulty good the manufacturer. They aren't loosing money.

me to i remember back when a pound shop were selling videos that HMV were selling for 15 quid lol..

i lost a few receipts that week

Now that is wrong.

Reminds me of people that grab stuff off the shelf in b&q and walk it straight to the returns desk for a credit note. Or buy paint, swap it with water then return it as unused. Pikies.
