You may recall my thread regarding finding a 3-series for my 'new' car.

Well, last weekend I found one and today I picked it up.

It's a 2003 BMW 330 Ci Sport in silver with 6 speed manual gearbox. With 78000 miles on the clock it is in incredible condition.

Grey leather interior with walnut, bluetooth, 6 CD changer, climate control, arm rest, sunroof, heated electric memory seats, parking sensors, folding mirrors.

The only thing I think it lacks is the navigation/tv. (I'm sure Fox will be along to ask 'has it got xyz' and I think I'll be able to answer 'yes' to most options.)

I am VERY impressed with it, even more so than when I test drove it!

It can be a bit thirsty if you boot it hard and drive it like you nicked it, but driven 'sensibly' it returned 30 mpg on the run from Leeds to Newcastle.

The engine feels tight, as does the gearbox. In fact, the whole car feels like new. A couple of very minor cosmetic issues were all I could find, but the dealer sorted those before I picked it up.

I am a very happy boy today! :D

2003 with 78k miles?

Hope it's not that one that that guy was trying to get shot of because it drinks the oil like no tomorrow :/

You 'orrible git! My heart just jumped into my mouth and I think I have a sewage plant in my trousers! ;)

:D sorry, couldn't resist!

How much did you pick it up for if you don't mind me asking? Has it had bushes done, got good tyres and been serviced properly by decent garages?

If so, the car is probably a good 'un. How many previous owners? Got any pics?

Paid £7750 for it. It was hard to get the dealer to drop anything from their asking price of £8000 because it was in such good nick and given the spec. Tyres are Bridgestone Potenzas[sp?]. Not sure about the bushes, but I know the owner of a garage who I trust who are going to 'inspect' it for me and they'll tell me (honestly) if the bushes need doing or have been done recently. Full BMW service history.

I think it's 2 previous owners. No pics right now, but I'll get some over the next few days.

It has obviously been very well looked after.

Cool, sounds like you've got one of the last good ones around! If the bushes haven't been done, i would definitely recommend that they are done (front control arm and rear trailing arm bushes) as this infinitely improves the drive. Also, the Potenza's are very good tyres for a direct feel, but they are very prone to tramlining and give quite a harsh ride. When i changed to Conti's i couldn't believe how much better the ride became and how there was absolutely no tramlining - but at the expense of feel and sharpness.

I noticed it tramlines a bit. But hell, does this thing go around corners!

Nice! But the original buyer who specced that interior needs to be taken out back and put down! Plus why does it have a normal gear knob and not a Sport knob? Is the roof lining anthracite?

It's not the interior I would have specced, but I don't think it's *that* bad! I'm not sure on the sport gear knob (what does the sport one look like?). Yes, the roof lining is anthracite.
