Tesco Returns Policy

Wow, just...wow.

Here's a wacky idea, but hear me out. Don't buy a game at launch for a high price if you don't know if you'll like it or not? I know, I'm bonkers!

Someone gave it an 8/10? Doesn't mean ****. Read review text and forum comments from actual gamers before you throw £80 away for two copies of a game.

Oh no, wait, you got your money back by ripping off a few other shops, but they're big nasty corporate shops so they deserve it.

"DIS IS WHY WE PIRATE GAMES!" argument. Hah, whatever makes you feel good justifying that. You know, you can always show your disapproval of publishers knocking out unfinished or seriously buggy games by just not buying them? You don't have to actually play every major title that's released.

And before the inevitable replies come, I don't think I'm on my high horse, I think I'm just a gamer that isn't a **** like some of this board seem to be.

From a legal stand point, it was bought on trade premises there is no cancellation rights in this situation. Even if the game was unopened they don't have to take it back and give you a refund as there's nothing in law that says Tesco has to.

There own returns policy will be bound by its own t&c's anyway and will have a list of exceptions, so games, CD's and DVD's are more than likely excluded.

We've all bought a bad game before, just chalk it up to experience and move on.

Translation:

Tesco wouldnt give him a refund but offered to swap it for two new copies of the same title (After all, if the game was faulty, then you'd want another so you could play it). He accepted this and now has two sealed copies rather than two second hand copies. Tesco will presumably now lose out when they send back two non-faulty games as faulty.

So he went to GAME and said he'd lost his receipt. GAME therefore, as an act of Goodwill (Something it would seem is lost on the OP), offered to exchange the games for him but because he has no receipt it would be at the current till price, which is £29.99.

Just.. fail.

Large companies screw the general population over day in day out, about time the people did it back, I for one support the OP's cunning and intelligence.
