Use to be rubbish, use to make the weirdest motherboards, now been owned by ASUS for a while.
Apparently someone was saying asus no longer own them.
yeah so i can see how your 2nd 480 seats with the restet header problem.
if that is possibe; that would be gr8 if not dont worry about it.
Thanks
Not the best picture in the world but you get the idea: http://www.markljlewis.com/stupidmsi.jpg
The header at the bottom with the label JFP1 is the one you plug them into. The first two pins top and bottom you can see are for the HDD and Power LED. It then skips a pin so the fourth pin you can see is the first power on and reset switch.
Sure I could have bent the pins or cut the case power switch and reset switch headers but I don't see why I should have to. It is clearly something MSI should have tested for or just put the header where it normally goes at the bottom of the board.
I ended up getting a P67 Sabertooth which I had my eye on to start with due to how good it looks, so the MSI board will be a bench/overclocking board for the timing being.
Rite after reading loads of info on the boards i'm going to go with
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P Intel Z68

Not unless someone say DONT, lol. going to order about 2ish.
Do you understand that this board can't do Quick sync or virtu (since it doesn't have a graphics connection to the integrated graphics on the CPU), while other Z68 boards can?
This means it isn't much of a step up from a P67 board (especially if you won't be using the SSD caching feature).
Yeah it is a good board for overclocking, there is a thread here which with the right cooling and CPU shows what is possible with that board: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=18264233
Worth pointing out though that he is a bencher, has phase cooling and the CPU is likely a golden one, but it does show the board isn't limiting the overclock. Has a bit of a review as well which should be useful for you.
I have the Asrock and feels like a really quality board. Got 6950@70 in CrossFire and I didn't have to do anything, everything was set up just fine after putting the cards in. I can take a pic tonight if you want.
Their UEFI bios is great too, may be not the flashiest but has all the options you would ever need for overclocking. It has also got a DisplayPort which is good if you have a monitor with a res larger than 1920x1200 and you are planning on using Virtu.
You just need to check the Extreme4 review in TomsHardware where is against an Asus and a Gigabyte and its picked the best of them. For the P67 version there is a review of it against the MSI P67A-GD65 and other boards but the Extreme4 comes out as the winner of the bunch again.
It has also got 2 years warranty and the base is in the Netherlands.
Yes, I was a bit doubious about Asrock to be honest (not a household name like MSI, Asus or Gigabyte)
But have a look at this review...

Is there anything specific you need for me to look at?
