Morning all

Right I cracked my screen and got a replacement all looked fairly simple started taking my phone apart as per the instructions and used the provided suction cup.

This is were my problem began I pulled to hard and snapped the cable labled 3.

Now i'm happy to replace this but cant seem to find what its called or where to get one from. Its the cable that links the top speaker so I cant listen to call unless I use the speaker phone/loud speaker. I have found lots of bottom replacement for the loud speaker but not this one.

Can anyone help me either find what its called or where to get one from.

Let this be a warming to anyone repairing your phone take your time and dont force anything haha.

Cheers in advance

Camera and Vibrate still work its just the top ear speaking that isnt working now if that makes sense. If i had a camera at work I would show a picture but dont at the moment :-(

I think you need this: iPhone 3G 3GS Induction Flex Proximity Sensor Replacement: http://www.portatronics.com/product...uction-Flex-Proximity-Sensor-Replacement.html

I got this from this guide http://www.portatronics.com/guide/iPhone-3G-Repair-Guide/ it mentions the cable 3 as a link, when click the link it takes you to this item.

Hope that helps?

Yeah its seems to be also called the Sensitization Cable. I have just ordered one so here's hoping that it all works after this and I can hold out until september or when ever the iphone 5 comes out.

Thanks all.

Looks like you're in the same boat as me, I dropped my 3GS a little while ago and have ordered a replacement screen (not turned up yet) and I'm gonna replace that and wait til the iPhone 5 instead of wasting £200+ on the iPhone 4.

Did you use a heat gun/hair dryer to loosen the glue? Or just pick at it?

Also, can u give a bit more info on how you snapped this cable, so I don't do the same :)

If you put the suction cup at the bottom of the screen, and then when pulling it, are aware that the cables connect at the top of the screen, you should be fine ;)

also I used my mrs hairdryer which worked a charm :)

When I get my replacement cable Ill make a guide.

But to answer the question in short dont be heavy handed like i was. I didnt heat the glue but its best too.

When you use the suction cup put it at the bottom of the screen and pull very gently. The cable is very short and sits at the top near the speaker. Basically I'm a buffoon and pulled far to harded and snapped, its very easy to do so be warmed as my friend warmed me about it and i took all the advice but failed massively.

Cable should be here either today or Monday so ill put something together then.
