Looks like LA Noire WANTS to be on PC

Shock horror at companies wanting to make money :p

The different platforms offer different experiences. I like my PC, because I play a lot of RTS type games, becuase they're better controlled with a keyboard and mouse. However I play a lot of action/adventure and the occasional FPS/TPS on the consoles, and I love just having to put the disc in, click a button and I'm playing a game, no installing, no "tweaking", no worrying about having to have my graphics card drivers updated or rolled back for the game to run properly - on console, they just work.

They "just" work on my PC too, they "just" work better ;)

I'd really like to see this game on PC but I doubt it will appear. Think the facial animations are a nice step forward. Better than any PC game I can think of...

With steam, it handles your graphics updates. To play a game you buy it, it downloads and installs itself. Then you click play. I would say that is simpler. Bypasses the disc step too.

Resistance and Killzone work on your PC? Impressive.

Thats like saying PC's are better because they can play Minecraft. Don't be silly, of course there will be exclusive titles.

He was talking about the games that are multiplatform, if the same effort is put into the PC version that is put into the others, it will often be the best version.

What happens to your games if steam goes bust or stops trading?

What happens when your Xbox breaks out of warranty? You either buy a new one or move on.

Anyway, it has been stated that all games on Steam have a 'safe switch' that if for whatever ever reason, Valve closes, all the game will lose their DRM. Admittedly that was said quite a long time a go, it would be interesting to see if thats still the case.

Yeah - I'm just worried if steam goes down (or more likely gets taken over) I will lose all my tasty games. I'm sure there are contingencies but still it's something that's always in the back of my mind...

Silly argument I'm afraid.

Exactly the same thing that happens to your console if Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo go out of business. You'd be able to play the game's you've already bought.

The whole thread's been pretty ridiculous from the start imo. ;)

Hence why I'd always usually get the PC version of a multi-platform game, I'd agree that they look better in most circumstances.

This thread is surrounding a console exclusive game though. It's pretty much the central point of the discussion...

I didn't realise that people were still so closed minded about other platforms these days.
I have a PS3, Wii, android phone and a half decent gaming pc. Together they fulfill all my gaming needs.
I'd hate to limit myself to only one platform - talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Haven't been on the PC games forum for ages but I see that it's still full of the 'Oh PC gamers are so much better than Console derps' superiority complex.

:rolleyes::p

I fulfil my gaming needs just on a PC, no need to spend more on technically inferior products.

im playing the game on my ps3 and it looks like dog ****. however, the gameplay and storyline is sensational.

You pc fans are missing out on a GOTY game

Slightly irritating, but there are plenty of other GOTY potentials out this year that are best on the PC (aka Portal 2, BF2, Skyrim etc.). I will admit I would like it on PC, but theres so many other good games hopefully coming out, its not worth getting too upset about it.

Really? dog ****?

REALLY?

I think it looks gorgeous on ps3. Maybe you should get a better television?

It "could" look better on PC, but how many people do we know that can run it at a good constant FPS with it looking that good? *Don't make me mention the steam hardware survey*

Wow. Just wow. I don't need to say any more, you prove my point perfectly. Anyway, why should I care? You're (and people who are as closed minded) the one missing out - not me.
Don't you see how closed minded you're being? Why be so bloody minded about it? I just don't get it, no one platform deserves such undying devotion from me that I won't try anything else.

*loads up L.A Noire*

After talking a lot about xbox games in work. I went and bought one just before Christmas.

got Fable 3, Fable 2, Soul Calibur 4, couple racing games and Dragon Ball z Raging Blast, and C&C3.

I can honestly count on one hand how many hours I've spent playing it since Christmas. And, that has only been to beat my girlfriend up in Soul Calibur 4. She plays it more than I do :p
