6950 woes

Right, bought a cheap 6950 in the tuesday epic sale, but now it cannot be unlocked (for certain) nor can it take a full waterblock. I'm thinking about returning it.

Are there any reference 2gig 6950 that can be unlocked and will take a full waterblock, or at least take a full waterblock?

I think it's fairly obvious a reference card will take a waterblock is it not? The MSI one will take a block for sure, the one with the standard blower fan.

Out of interest, which exact card did you get? The Frozr III?

Has to be the Frozr III, as far as I can see the only reference 6950 left at OcUK is the £205 MSI one.

The asus oc (810mhz) version will unlock shaders. It's not so cheap at the moment though.

It's only £220, not so bad. Cheapest I seen is about £198 or so.

Pretty much all of them?!
All ref 6950s will take a ref 6970 block.
Nearly all are flashable if they are rev1
