This program is useless, I sign on and according to skype no one in the office is online.... They are ALL online.

Oh one of them has sent me a link....... no still nothing from skype ...

... Now when I start skype up, instantly crashes woo!

Grrr Lets hop MS make it better, or at least less buggy. This is not worth the $$$ the bought it for.

Skype is awesome, the quality is excellent and it made calling home (landlines) from Japan very cheap.

Not just me, then? Every Windows box I either own or administrate (friends, family etc) has Skype crash immediately on launch (or sign in) for the last few months. Nothing seems to fix it - new versions, old versions, complete uninstall including all Skype keys in the registry etc. Weird.

It still works fine on my Mac and Linux boxes, just not Windows. A friend said it was due to running in Compatibility mode (to keep the Skype icon in the systray rather than taskbar) but that doesn't fix it either. Add into that the fact that skype.com is down and... fail. :/

I never have a problem with Skype and have been using it for years. However now Microsoft have bought Skype things may change for me in the future.

Haven't used it in a couple of weeks, but never had an issue with it before.

Both I and my colleagues use it for voice chat and recording interviews and podcasts using "Pamela for Skype", which in itself is a fantastic little piece of software.

Basically just wondering how you end up paying for the skype service. I'm only a casual user who installs and uses for free so i'm ignorant on this one :)

I pay a subscription fee for Skype. This means I get free calls to landlines and I also have a static number, so people on a landline/mobile can call my number and I receive the call through Skype.

I don't have a physical landline and I use my Skype service for work.
