Hey guys ive recently put up a post about 2 weeks ago where i thought my 480 was getting these wierd artifacts even at stock and below stock clocks with the voltage pushed up so i replaced the card and got a 570 and im getting the same thing again and its starting to bug me =/ ive replaced the drivers completely removed them and used driversweeper to get rid of anything thats left and rolled through 4-5 different drivers and still i get the same thing, tried switching pcie slots incase it was that same thing again. Its wierd because all this stuff is new about 2 weeks old and the cards arent overheating at all 50c for the 570 under max load.

  • Ive checked the drivers and rolled back through a fair few of them also
  • checked the cards seated right
  • checked the power cables are secure in PSU, GPU, Mobo
  • Temps are low 50c max load
  • Already switched cards so it cant be that
  • ive a 1000w coolermaster psu which should easily power this rig and if it was that wouldnt it just shut down randomly?? ive yet to have that happen
  • the artifacts only happen in certain parts, i.e. batman aa when i zoom in with my visor it has flicker white-ish lines in a transparentish box hard to explain but only in the set areas of the visor not in actual game
  • Heaven gets wierd black sharp lines at the same part every time no matter clock, voltage and whats wierder its at the same place the 480 got them to
  • OCCT No Errors after 15Mins Leads me to believe its not the card?
  • Also just tried my spare PSU and still get the Issue so i dont think its a PSU problem

Im really stuck here and wondered if anyone could offer some help. Below are some Screenies bear in mind these Artifacts arent static they Flicker Rather quickly!

Hey thanks for the reply nope its not the drivers ive rolled back through loads and its the same kind of artifact on each driver in the same spot which is confusing even on 2 seperate new cards. Its Batman AA, Crysis 2, Crysis has a wierd one too, Dead Space 2's camera stutter with or without vysnc and triple buff, bad co 2 gets them too but randomly, Heaven gets a wierd artifact right as it swings by the Dragon on the 2nd spin around it. Also i had 2x 260's which never had the problem in Batman AA

Im at my wits end trying to find the fault, even tried with dvi cable incase hdmi was the problem but nope. Didnt think there was an updated bios for Asus P8P67 1155 as its the revised version

Does this affect anything in windows or any other games? Ive seen that same thing in some games but not others, ive just ignored it really lol its not affecting actual gameplay tbh. Compare them same screens to someone else and see if this occurs with them.

Oh right would you be able to take some screen shots then and try to compare even if its different games?? It would really help you see as ive googled the issue and not found anything. I dont think it affects windows as far as i can tell, but windows isnt pushing the gpu. Ive tried to youtube videos with the same card/drivers etc but i cant see any of the same images occuring. what are your specs cr416?

Im pretty sure mine does the same thing but i never thought anything of it.

Are the sharp black lines on heaven when the camera is turning round the dragon? I get that for like a split second at the corner of the screen but i just assumed it was a rendering thing in Heaven.

Happens when the card is stock, overclocked or underclocked.

I think i may have got the same thing in Batman but can't be sure. I can't recall the same thing you showed in Crysis 2 though.

I've never really worried about it. :o

Just google imaged batman:

Thanks for the reply Jono8 yeah thats exactly the part in Heaven when it does it on the dragon and thats the only part i seem to get that popping up in Heaven, its strange as ive never had it with any other cards only my 570 and 480, and the same thing as the batman image you googled too, i dont use the image bit just search for posts lol ill be using it next time :p. just out of curiosity whats your specs?

Specs: 480GTX, I5 2500k @ 4.6GHZ and 8 GB of RAM. MSI P67 GD63 mobo.

However i am sure it did the same in batman with my old computer (Q9650, GTX 275). My 480GTX did the same with my old Q9650 setup as well as my new sandybridge setup.

I can only assume it is a Nvidia driver querk or something as it happens whether the system and card are overclocked or not.

I never get any proper artifacts and all games run perfectly without a single crash e.t.c.

If everything is running fine, i wouldnt worry about it mate.

I too thought the problem in heaven was my overclock but it did it when it was at stock as well as underclocked so i just chose to ignore it. I also got no errors in OCT so i doubt there is anything wrong with the card.

Yeah i thought it was the OC aswell but if its not then thats fine with me as long as its just a quirk kind of thing, like you say ive never had a crash with it on either card 480 or 570 just a pecuilar thing. I will say though i had a smaller monitor back then and now im using a 32" tv so maybe thats why i see it more often and easier. Im regretting sending my SOC 480 back now thinking it was that :( ive still got the time to return this card so ill just do that or try to its still within 7 days, do you think OCUK will allow me to do that?
