UEFA Champions League Final - Manchester United vs. Barcelona

Berbatov is crap, only way to utilise him is sell him to some other poor buggers. Top scorer and I would still kick his lazy ass out of the door. God knows how many points he has lost us this season. We need to cull our mid field and get some real class to.

Our reserves and academy look pretty week at the moment even with Neville bigging them up. Besides maybe Morrison and Keane can't see any real class coming through.

Are we really gonna swap Scholes for Gibson next season? To be honest we could get rid of Scholes, Gibson, Carrick, Fletcher, Obertan, Bebe and Anderson. Sicknote already left. Need some real quality, I would even take Nasri at the moment after his contract runs out.

Apart from one overhit cross I literally don't remember seeing Valencia doing ANYTHING other than fouling tonight, it took about 5-6 before the ref finally pulled a card out, he could easily have got one in the first half. Nani must be fuming at being benched for him!

Totally embarrassing from United's point of view. Reading the papers about how they were going to do this and that?

They were made to look amateur and i have no sympathy for them at all.

Losing 3-1 to the best club side in history isn't really embarrassing.

Most of them are inferior players and they did their best, but it was never really going to be good enough.

That didn't take much. As soon as someone replies to you with a half decent reply, you just confirm you are trolling. Nice one.

I noticed The Titanic was on channel 4 earlier on, but I didn't want to watch a sinking ship...

So I turned off the Manchester United game and watched the film instead.

Take care ladies :)

I don't even support man utd or barca but there's not need to be a total **** for no reason :/

A jealous arsenal/chelsea/man city fan per chance? Your posts all seem to reek of envy.

EDIT: i notice you don't list your age in your profile either, don't want anyone knowing a grown man is acting like a child? or are you really a child, as it's hard to tell.

Gerrard celebrating Barca's win ;)

We were completely outplayed, no surprise there. I don't think we would have won regardless of who we played, we don't have the type of players to beat Barca. Winning the title for the 19th time will do me. :)

Congrats to Utd for at least getting into the final, I was surprised Berbatov wasn't at least on the bench and that Fergie didn't really try and change the game by altering his tactics. Sure he brought Nani on but that doesn't count. What's the general consensus about the game? Do we think Barcelona were just godly, Man Utd were sub par, or a bit of both? As a neutral I thought that Evra and Fabio had bad games, as did Valencia who gave away a lot of fouls.

EDIT: ... I'm tired. :p

Hi bud, here is what I thought - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=19247058&postcount=1004

All in all, Barcelona were great and United were outclassed and tactically a bit suspect. Not much more to it than that really :(

I can't be bothered to go into how good Barca were, they were imperious - but did we expect less?

Kind of sad, but it wasn't really a shock result just sad we didn't play with the heart we showed in the first 25 mins for the whole match. Evra looked a bit overcome by the occasion and there was just a lack of clearheaded defending for the second (and first) Barca goal. We need to learn from this and buy midfielders who will properly replace Scholes and Giggs (and IMO Ronaldo).

It's not surprising that Chico couldn't win this match up front for us - it's his first season with us, his first CL final and he's had a long hard season. The lad did his best but the service wasn't there and not much you can do by yourself up front with scraps against Barca.

We had one clear cut chance all match and we scored from it, the fact we didn't create more chances was the problem. Lack of ability to be inventive with the bench we had was a contributing factor. Berbs should have been on the bench for his form alone and would have offered us a different type of attack - Owen was basically just going to be another Chico. We waited too long to bring Nani on and didn't play with any urgency in the last ten. I'd have rather we'd absolutely gone for it and conceded three more goals than trying to pass our way through a packed midfield.

Lessons to be learned from this one - and I hope those lessons are applied to the transfer market. Particularly if Berbs leaves.

Oh lawd, worst final I watched since time began, pep schooled alex big time

Sad but England is crap at everything

Barca are the Arsenal of the EPL that can score and defend

Amazing, never seen a pub so quiet.

pls stop posting, thats all you "mancs" came out with after the final whistle, 19 titles, was pretty shocking that only a few people saw the result for what it was.

How can you diss Liverpool after that performance!
