Messed up at work, need advice...

Oh lord , I had no idea there was this much interest, never thought there would be this many updates! I have unfortunately had a very busy weekend, not been in work so obviously not wanting to be anywhere near a computer. I'm a bad man for not updating you all and I appreciate the concern.

Well I turned up a couple of minutes early, he was 10 minutes late. I was hoping he wouldn't show.
His opening line was, "I have no idea where to even start" (angry face). I then jumped in with, I think I should. I put forward my apology for emailing everyone in error and using unsuitable words, etc. I mentioned the words "ashamed" and "disappointed" as recommended by GD. I said my piece and then he started to bollock me, talk about how much time, money and resource they have poured into it, etc and that my email would lower moral, etc. He dwelled on this for too long and I grew tired of it getting dragged out so I told him this was my first slip up in years, and how much fantastic work I have done for the company, etc and he had to agree, he said he is often told of this (funny how im not pulled aside for a chat about my good work eh?) which is why he decided not to give me a disciplinary. I had a list with me of things that were rubbish about the system, etc but he didn't want to hear it when I went into it. I really felt the need to assert myself and big myself up.

It ended with him saying "I have nothing more to say to you, you can leave".

So no disciplinary, but something on my 'record'. They've also tarred my opinion of certain things and also questioned my loyalty.

Thanks for all the advice GD and sorry for the delayed reply!

Probably wasn't a great idea going into detail about how the system is crap, seconds after your telling off?

Ah well, looks like you got away with it:cool:

That's it, thread's over brohan. I'm outta here.

You are a dead man walking my friend, I suggest you start looking for alternative employment before they force your hand.

Exactly what I thought when I read this also. Highly doubt your gonna get off so lightly with this one I'm afraid.

Wouldn't be too certain about that - though I'd agree that he needs to look elsewhere. If they'd taken some sort of formal action over this and stuck it on his record then he'd be in a much more precarious situation - the fact that they didn't when they could have is a positive in that his job is safer. Future promotion prospects would however appear to have been obliterated.
