Had my feet eaten by Garra Rufa fish

Having watched them for a few days, I'm rather concerned with regards to the cleanliness of it all.
Yes, the water is filtered as per normal fishtanks, but the water isn't changed, though it is 'treated' every couple of days.

Also, despite their assertions to the contrary, these fish here have not been fed on anything except old skin. Surely that cant be good for them.

It's enough of a concern to get it banned across most of the USA apparently.

The USA is silly about some things, like Unpasteurised cheese.

But sells guns.

If you want soft feet walk on the beach.

Just become the trendy thing in the past year or two. As someone mentioned there is a hygiene concern, but probably just the usual 'elf and safety gone mad.

I wouldn't want fish nibbling on me after nibbling on some ***** no more than I'd like a go on some sloppy seconds.

Just my personal choice.

Walked past one almost daily in Portsmouth, I think there's an issue as the water is changed or the bowl isn't cleaned.

The thread content rather disappointed me after reading the thread title - I was hoping for amputated feet or at least some mutiliations and what we get is some fish nibbling away at dead skin... :p

Not had tried it myself although I wouldn't be averse to it in a general sense, probably don't fancy being in the middle of a shopping centre and sticking my feet in a pool of water with these fish in though.

I was trying to find a picture of that woman in the directline ads
with "Shark Attack" written on it to illustrate your point, but my googlefu failed me.

I did this in Kuala Lumpur with the lady, mainly because it was fun, different and taking a huge risk like this is fun once in a while.

It was very relaxing and I actually fell asleep.

Fortunately I was one of the very lucky few that didn't have their feet chewed off at a later date by a flesh eating fungus.

Loved it me, had it done a few week ago.

I'd chill in a bathtub of em and let them go wild.

Regards to hygiene, they put your feet in a sterliser i think!

what happens if they all start floating the moment you stick your feet in? which will probably be what happens if i stick my paws in..... poor them...

I walked past a beauticians once and there was a guy sitting in the window front with his girlfriend having it done. He looked at me, I shook my head disapprovingly and he just laughed. He knew he lost man points that day.
