Is one pump enough for my components?

hi, is one ddc1t 10w pump going to be enough for the below or am I going to need a bigger pump or another ddc1t.

ddc1t> ek 480 rad> ek 240 rad> ek gtx480 full cover block> ek supreme hf cpu block> ek 120 rad> ek res

Wow lots of rad their just to cool a 480gtx and cpu. Nevertheless I don't think there is anything in your loop which is particularly restrictive so you should be fine.

However depends of course how you put your loop together but i still think you will be OK.

Should be fine as radiators hardly add any restriction to the loop & thats a lot of rad surface.

I will eventually add another gtx 480 in the loop so thought I may as well add a 480 rad to help sort the heat that sli will cause, and i all ready got a 240 and 120 so rather than sell them for peanuts thought I would make use of them, good to know I should be OK with the one pump, thanks guys, I will keep the pipes as short as possible as well, all going inside a fractal design xl

that is a lot of rads.. you should have very low temps enjoy!!

You only really need a 480 rad for good temps it will be overkill. I would forget about the 120 at least.

Ill be building my rig again in the next few days and Ive got gtx 480 sli and a 2600k i will post some screen shots of my temps. Ive got 360 and 120 rad.

I would suggest maybe getting the 18w MCP355.

I am figuring to use the 120 at the back of the case simply for a neater route for the tubing, but am not 100% sure what is going to be the best route to use.

Why not just buy a d5 no messing with them. Ive had the duel mcp355 i didn't think they were that good.

It comes down to the cost's really

, I have spent way more this year on my PC than most years ever, and I want a new new PSU, and new GTX480 with a EK block, a new D5 would be a step too far budget wise

MCP355s have stronger head pressure than D5s, and that is what matters most in high restiction loops.

Sell the two smaller rads and the pump and buy a D5. Complete rad overkill that will make no difference to your temps as you have them in a single loop configuration.

Agree will the rest.

If your going to buy another pump why not sell the one you have and put the money to and you have enough for a d5

Two pumps, from what I understand outperform a single D5, so I thought rather than mess about selling my pump and loosing money on it, I could buy another of the same performance and connect it up for better than D5 performance

Not necessarily it will only perform better if you have a fflow problem and you need the extra pumping power to achive optimum flow rate.

2 pumps can actually have a slightly detrimental effect as you are putting extra heat in the loop.

he's not got a high restrictive loop that's why i said get a d5

it gets a little restrictive when you start adding cards and mobo and 90deg fittings etc

a cpu and gpu block is not a problem. And if you clean a rad and put it under your tap you can see how un restrictive they are when the water comes out the other side.

I went from a xspx duel bay res with 2 mcp 355s and i didn't rate them at all. If i stopped one buy pulling power then the temps only went up 1c so i sold them got a d5.
