£350 spec me

Depends. You could get a 2500k + Good P67/Z68 board or wait until maybe September when BD is released. Up to you, don't think anyone really knows how fast BD will be.

Sorry, been busy today.

Just need cpu + mb, and i will be gaming and running some servers occasionally.

I was thinking 2600k and a G45, which comes in at £327 which isn't too bad i don't think.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM £155.99
1 x Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £144.98
Total : £308.71 (includes shipping : £6.45).

How's that?
Z68 has many useful features over P67 - one of the most prominent is the SSD caching, and another is that you can switch between onboard and dedicated graphics, whilst being able to o/v CPU and iGPU.
i7 isn't worth the premium over i5 for gaming as games don't make use of HT.

what would you rather have, a 2600k and a G45, or a 2500k and a GD 65/ That Asrock board.

I know the 2500k will be just as fast for gaming, but for £20 more i'm not sure i can resist the 2600k, persuade me :D

I would take the Z68 and i5.

Z68 has so many features that just make it more desirable and generally better than P67.

Take the SSD caching for example, 60GB SSD + a HDD effectively makes the HDD into an SSD, so you get massive drive space with speeds much faster than a standard HDD.

Can alternate between integrated and dedicated GPU to save electricity and money.
