You can be a living donator in the uk, but obviusly you don't get paid.
It's slightly different to say donating bone marrow as you have certain restrictions for life. But help someone else live and get paid for it.

Besides druggies and alcoholics, I don't think many people would. Despite the amount of stupid people we have in britain, I don't think many are foolish enough to put their own health at risk. Then again, having said that, if the price were large enough (20k private offer for example) then I'm sure that would be different for people who want to pay off debt etc.

You can survive on or kidney and you would be helping to save a life and then quite probably a large sum of money on top. Although would need to read into restrictions you have with only one. You say it like it's a crazy idea. But many of us are on bone marrow list. Which is meant to be incredibly painful and for no reward.

I think the problem with this story isn't that he sold a body part for cash but the fact he sold it for some specific gadgets. If he had donated his kidney to save someone's life who rewarded him with something he had wanted his whole life if would be a completely different story.
