33% off Call of Duty: Black Ops.....Is it worth buying

is your like the CoD type muilt-player then yes but if your after a singleplayer game I would say no and yes I have played it.

Don't go by what other people have said. Form your own opinion. As said, it's a free weekend so just download it and have a go.

A lot of people think it's cool to bash Call of Duty so they'll put out bad reviews changing the minds of people like yourselves who are thinking of having a go but then decide not to.

And they call the people who play it childish ;)

It's a steamworks game isn't it so it'll probably be better to pick it up somewhere like Amazon and activate it on your account.

Edit: Yes it is, and it's only £20 on Amazon.

I bought it for £40 and i liked it very much. I thought SP had a good story and the mp is as good as any other COD. Much like coldplay, it has become cool to hate COD, even if it is good.

I wasnt a fan myself, But I thought Call of duty lost it after World at War. I didn't like MW2 or Black Ops.

But as said, Give it a try. I know loads of people that love the game.

and lol.. it would seem if you hate a game, its because its cool to hate. and if you love a game, You're a fanboy. I do love the extremes of this world.

I'm one of the few people that liked MW2 and I don't like Black Ops, although theres some good ideas in it.

Way too many random bugs and unpredictable performance issues - I can't play more than 3 maps online without it becoming extremely stuttery on the 4th, and its far from smooth in the first 3 - feels very laggy/choppy. Zombie mode randomly becomes choppy to for me with fps dropping to ~10 for several seconds quite often (and I'm far, far from alone with these kinda issues).

Weapons feel "meh" and just don't have the fluid feel or tactile of earlier COD games.

Lots of bugs in the character progression, you can end up stuck on a level, losing stuff randomly or even reset entirely. i.e. for awhile I couldn't make any class than included an LMG as I couldn't join any servers while it existed.

Netcode isn't as good as COD4/MW2 either - mostly I think because of the choppiness and that half the players are affected by it at any one time to some degree or other.
