Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

I agree, it was an absolute rip off. They couldn't even be bothered to put in some trials of the new chars. I thought I'd be well into this but Evil Ryu is a joke of a character, his teleport is pants, he has low health, I was bored playing with him after an hour. I might try Oni today or I've got a few free PS3 games I might get into instead, and atm that seems the better option.

Oni looks fun to play, his health is better and more mixup options which is my kinda game. Im crap with Shotos though, need to start practcing.

By the way anyone know what them numbers after the / of your PP and BP mean? I skipped the "instruction" bit after installing AE

adz, you are playing evil ryu wrong. he has too little health and stun to do what you are doing now. you have to stay up close and do some damage with frame traps and set up some long damaging combos (like c.mp, c.hp xxx m axe kick, c.lp xxx l tatsu, dp). ultra 2 is better btw, because you can land it the same way you can land ultra 1 but it does way way more damage.

and your jammy focus attack dont work on me anymore since i finally have a armour breaker that actually works.;):D

most of your jump isnt safe btw, thats why i keep hitting you with makoto upward "ex upkick" punch.

I must be playing him wrong since I am losing almost every game. He feels much more like Ryu then Akuma but you can't really play him that way without getting punished. Ryu feels like trash now. May try Oni tonight but I have to say, I don't like what they have done to the game at all.

I'm pretty sure you cant link into cr.hp with E.Ryu.

Ryu feels like trash now.

What made you say that? Just because they removed the runaway tatsu? Well deserved change IMO, runaway play should be discouraged.
That's the only change that really affects most Ryu's.

His cr.mk doesn't look the same. I've only played him twice I think in AE but am just in training mode with him now to see what I find. I tried Akuma once, his dash forward was lolworthy.

Anyone know any good E.Ryu combo vids I can watch and learn from? I am not gonna give up on him that easily.

Try a non-shoto/fireball character. Rushdown being viable makes it a far more interesting game.

Lol, I had exactly the same problem. Hes so poor, you can't play him like akuma or ryu. Hes just a nothing character with the worst health since seth. I got double perfected, and I got beaten within seconds by a very average looking yun. Oni is amazing though, hes not really even a shoto. Wicked character, really impressed with the mid air ultra and super.

I haven't played SSFIV in a very long time but I'm getting a bit frustrated with MK as the online seems to be getting progressively worse with no solutions being provided by NRS, I was thinking of buying the Arcade Edition as I still have SSFIV in my collection. Keep in mind I don't play with a stick, I was hardly elite before I put SSFIV down I pretty much had a 1:1 win/loss ratio online.

Would this be worth picking up and playing again or am I just going to get slapped around like a wet lettuce everytime I go online?

i would say it is all depend on how good you are/was, although there are some players online that are really bad now and again, so you can get some free wins from them.

ae version is play more aggressively than before, so you might like it if you like rush down gameplay.

People online are really good now. I don't know if AE has match making according to SSF4 PP or something but every player I've played is really good since AE. Getting whooped most of the time.
