Paris or Brussels?

Won 2 premier business tickets to either Paris or Brussels and not sure which one to go to.

I'm not really a big drinker, I like site seeing and museums and stuff I guess. Just looking for a nice place to chill out for a week or so.

What would you recommend and why?

In before - worst I've won 2 premier business class tickets.
 
Can't comment on Brussels, as I have never been, Paris, is OK for the sights, but I found the whole experience a little over hyped, was expecting much more from the city, the people, the food, the atmostphere and before I went hearing so much about it, I was slightly disappointed.

That's just my experience though :) Maybe it's me? As I am more of a guy that likes to visit places which have more active things to do, like Skiing, Snowboarding, WaterSports, Hot places or Clubbing experiences such as Ibiza. If its a City break it has to have enough to keep me occupied as there is only so many sights I can take.

It could be totally awesome compared to Brussels, but again I can't comment on that

You can do Brussels in a weekend. Go to Paris as it has enough sites and museums to keep you occupied for a week.

This.

Brussels is excellent, but one of it's main pluses is the beer. If you're not a big drinker then there probably isn't enough for you to do for a week. Go to Paris.

This, went there this weekend and was driving around for the first time. Magical, lots of little restaurants, cafes and bars to explore.

PS. I recognised The Inception "dream" bridge - do I get a medal?
 
I've never been to either but I think Paris would be the must go to. My girlfriends parents love France, and they say that you'd have to go to Paris several times in order to actually 'see' it. It's just too bit. A bit like London and NYC I guess.
 
There's a fantastic Christmas market in Brussels but I can imagine it would be somewhat lacking for the rest of the year. Could always hop on a train to Bruges/Antwerp/elsewhere?

Otherwise Paris.
 
Brussels for me wasn't that great and I think the problem was that I had been to Bruges and Antwerp before I arrived there and nothing interested me
 
Brussels, has no character. Its a very bland place and the only intresting this is a small statue(verysmall), having a wee. I hated the place. But their was a good dive centre their, thats why we visited. Also the beer is good. Brussels reminds me of a very trypical city.
 
Brussels for sure, only been to Paris once but I got head butted, got my front teeth bust and mugged so as you can appreciate my memories of Paris are not that great.
 
I can't stand Paris plus its freaking expensive. My first experience of arriving in Paris was jumping in a cab from the train station asking the cab driver to take me to my hotel in french to which he yelled back at me "I DONT SPEAK ENGLISH" in perfect english I might add. So not an overall good start to the trip. I found that with a lot of cab drivers :( I know my french isn't exactly great and I don't have the accent but comeon...

I'm moving out to Brussels next March for work shall be living there for 3 years :) I love it there tbh people are nice. Plus if you get the chance you can go to Bruge which is SO awesome and I quote "It's like a ****ing fairytown" :p
