GTA 4 Lagging

Works fine on my rig full spec on a 5850. No slowdown or FPS drops too.

With that said, Metro 2033 also works effortlessly on Max graphics. Could be due to a new machine?

I've suffered no stuttering and using the 5770. V sync isn't turned on either. Guess I'm just lucky

I got poor preformance with my 4870 but it's even worse with my new 5850. Went from like 40fps to 20fps for no reason. Every other game i've tried has noticible gains over the 4870 though. Even with the 4870 it stuttered like hell.

I'll probably just reinstall

I watched my mate play it on his pc when he had the 8800gtx in there, it seemed to run ok, ok he did have the settings turned down a bit. Now his got a 5870, it dont seem as smooth, his tried sodding about with the settings, no matter what he does, settings on low its still the same. So it could be an ATI issue, or maybe a patch issue, as as soon as i installed that patch 7 it was like a different game to me, it all came to life. So ive recommended he tries the same. Only problem with that is, now i cant play the bloody game as he wants the disc back again as i cant find i no dvd crack that works with patch 7.

i should have kept my mouth shut and just gave him the no dvd crack.

You cant talk about stuff that like that on the forums. Just go and buy the game.

Is it illegal now to borrow a game from a friend? Someone already mentioned that rockstar have got a no dvd patch out so i assumed it was ok. My bad if not.

Anyway, id rather bin the game than buy it now considering the problems ive had with it, and im not a fan of rockstar anymore as they are console fanboys, they dont like us pc gamers. Which is what ive done anyway uninstalled it and gave it back.

might have another wizz at it in the future. Im on catch up, got shed loads of games to play atm, so something for the futre maybe, when his done with it.

Game is unoptimized port because, frankly, Rockstar are noobs.
