haf x case

hello good people, just starting to build myself a new rig, using above case is there anyone here with said case who has fitted an extra top fan and been able to refit top cover, thanking you in advance regards

Yeah, its pretty simple. The top is designed for two fans so as long as you use the coolermaster on, you're guaranteed a perfect fit.

The top cover just clicks back into place afterwards. It's like taking the lid off a clip lunchbox.

I have removed the side fan and just fitted to the top, havinf put an led fan in side panel, but the top just will not clip back into place, thanking you for your reply, regards

Which bit are you stuck on? Have a look at the pic above and maybe download it and use ms paint to show us?

Thank you for your reply managed in the end by cutting top cable tie and that loosened the cables. looking at the pic have you put the hop swop bay at the top, thanking you in advance regards

What was that about the hot swap bay BTW?

no, I had to take out the CD drive holders as they wouldn't let me use the fan controller properly

I see, sorry to be nosebag," what fan controller are you using"? If you don`t mind me asking. on my prevoius rig had a zalman which also monitors power used but, it has proved to be less than adequate. Thanking you in advance regards

I'm using the Lamptron FC V2 I loved it so much I bought one for my rig! (the HAF X was for a friend

)

Is it for the rig in your sig?
I would pick up another 5870/50 for crossfire as the current prices are really excellent. Intact, you can also get a 5830 for £80 for xfire!

For the optical drive, I went for LG lightscribe. Pretty good. I wouldn't bother with Blu ray or even lightscribe. I have both and in 5yrs haven't used it once.

Thank you, no am using 990x, rampage 3 black, hd5970, h7o cooler and 250gb series 510 elmcrest. also changed the fans to apache black, gave old rig to grandson, regards

You can still get a 5830 and use that for tri-fire with the 5970. TBH, unless the 5970's struggling, I wouldn't upgrade.

That's a bloody powerful rig!

Thanks for reply, getting on now pobably last personal rig i will put together ah. Cleeecooo you seem to have a great deal of knowledge and no I never creep, just try to be as polite as possible. a friend of mine told me today change ide over to ahci because i am fitting the 510 series. sorry to be a pain thanking you in advance regards

You're not being a pain at all! My knowledge is feeble compared to many others on here

AHCI is a feature that SSD's can use and most SSD users will have their mobo in AHCI mode, as do I.
