Hi first post

I need a pc from Over clockers

Current Set up

Dell xps 210
Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 / 2.2 GHz viiv
4gb Ram
222gb hard drive
Nividea N8400 gs
CD-RW/ DVD Combo – IDE 24x

What I was looking at from Overclockers

First question

Is this a big step up from current pc?
Would it run Battlefield 3 and other newer games (Football Manager etc) well? (Current pc struggles with Magicka!!!)
Is it easily upgraded after purchase? i.e. Ram, Graphics and possibly CPU

Don’t really wanna spend over 400 quid or build it myself, so any other options let me know

Thats not an improvement really, you will be far better off building yourself a PC from individual bits.

This includes a Tri-core CPU thats very fast in games and the motherboard has the chance to unlock an extra core in it giving you a quad core cpu.

The 5850 is faster than anything in its price range.
 
It would not run BF3 well no, it could be upgraded I suppose. I think that if you're looking to play what is likely to be one of the best looking games on PC for that budget, you need to think about building yourself. Watch some videos on it, it is easy enough.

According to the BF3blog, the recommended list indicates a quad core so the £30 that is left over of the budget should probably go towards a 955be over the tri core you specced?

Try adding an OS and a capable GPU and it's in excess of £600

No Graphics card included, It says you get to choose one of the dedicated cards which adds to the cost. The mobo has onboard graphics but you have NO CHANCE of running BF3 on integrated graphics.

:eek::eek::eek: How long have there been AM3+ mobos for that price, wish I had seen that a week ago when ordering my parts.

Anyways to the OP, this is probably the minimum system you should look to run BF3 on. You could ring OcUK and ask if they could build it for you but it would increase the costing even more over your original budget.
