http://www.infocado.co.uk/ and my images

its not really fair to expect steve to care about pros going out of business

he is not a pro and the exposure to have his photos in print is understandable

whilst i understand the whole "dont give your photos for free" concept, you cant blame steve for wanting to do it

No, as i said in my opening post i wanted to know if anyone had heard of the company.

Why though? In case they were trying to rip you off?

And no, neil_g isn't being dramatic, you're directly contributing towards screwing my sources of income.

Thanks!

Have you seen my images?! I doubt any pros will go out of business anytime soon if images of this quality 'flood' the market..

THEY'RE GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM TO WANT TO PUT THEM ON A CALENDAR, THEREFORE THEY HAVE A WORTH TO THEM.

Jesus H...

A calendar of 12 images, you're doing someone out of about £600, can I bill you for loss of earnings?

Thank you! Nail on the head! I was flattered that someone actually wanted to use my work.

My photos on a calender with my name and website address sounded like a nice idea. I was hardly going to tell them to do one to keep pro togs happy!

thats a bit harsh

you going to complain that i am selling my work cheaper than yours and screwing your income too ?

Honestly, stop being silly!

Anyway, If you were that good you'd have nothing to worry about would you?

i really do get the point, but its not fair to blame steve for wanting to do it

its like saying i am a massage thereapist and you want to give people free massages because you enjoy it

and me telling you that you are taking away my income and getting annoyed at you for doing it

Presumably the OP does have a job he's paid to do, what if one day someone walked in and offered to his job for nothing, how would he feel?

Just remind me why i should give a toss about you and your income again?

If i want to give away my work for free then that's up to me. Cry about it all you like.

They do pay though

8. Standard Payments. Infocado pay a fee for all photographs used and this fee will vary according to the size of the image reproduction or the size of the calendar. The rates for our more common formats is detailed below, Infocado Ltd reserves the right to change the payment terms in advance of final publication of any calendar. Contributing photographers and artists will be informed of any change in payment terms before final publication. Cover images are usually used again on the inside pages of the calendar and a 50% premium is usually paid for the cover and inside usage.

That was from their T&Cs.

if your a pro, and you sell your work and clients want to pay for your work, then great

if the industry changes, and clients try it on by getting free work, then thats a change to your industry and hardly steves fault.
