Hi,

We have an iPhone 3G that is unlocked (purchased SIM free) We have just changed networks but the phone is saying iTunes is network locked, we've been searching on the internet but cant find anything relevent.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you get around it?

Thanks

Thanks, we are only interested in legitimate ways of sorting the issue.

Looks like its resolved anyway, for future searchers you have to contact the provider who it is locked to who in turn contact Apple who will supply an unlock code for use with the new activation via iTunes

Very irritating when the Blackberries and Androids just work, this process is time consuming and causes issues.

Blackberries and Androids are still locked but require a code to be put in the phone instead of connecting it to iTunes.

It was

This is a business phone and is legitimate in everyway so not sure why you would assume otherwise

After doing a lot more reading it seems the first time you register a SIM with an apple product it locks it to that network, to unlock it you have to go through the process above which is just not on, if the new provider knows you are carrying over an iPhone they should factor all this in and shorten the process
