Glastonbury 2011?

Elbow were amazing imho, enjoyed Morriesy.

Also, don't think it's right to compared football teams and music bands, but U2 are overrated in my opinion :)

I thought Coldplay were "okay" quite good, but not as good as Elbow's performance.

Everyone knows U2 are the most overrated band in the history of music.

Aside from, sometimes you can't make it on your own...that one's a bit of a tune :p

Drawing on the Barcelona comparison, that's like saying Barcelona are rubbish aside from Maxwell. Out of all the U2 songs you pick a song that I (and a lot of other U2 fans) don't really rate, and gloss over their immense back catalogue. I see your lack of knowledge isn't only confined to sport. :p

Music is probably what I have most knowledge in. So your ignorant and equally arrogant comment is made of fail. Love the way you take your opinion and generalise it amongst all U2 fans.

Just a little reminder to show I'm not in the minority (amongst OCUK) - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18205140&highlight=OVERRATED+BANDS

Believe me, I've heard enough people prattle on about how overrated U2 are but their masses of critical acclaim, sell-out tours and enough awards to fill a house suggests they are a vocal minority. To be fair though, most of the people that argue that are basing it off stuff like Elevation which is understandable. If you actually took the time to go through from The Unforgettable Fire to Pop and realised the progression that they make as a band within just 13 years, it is something which no band (past or present) has matched.

They cover such a spectrum of sounds that I find it baffling that someone can say outright they don't like U2, there's literally something for everyone.

True, there are songs I like but I'm not overly enamoured with them as a band. Particularly as musicians I'm not that impressed with them. Bono sings well, and Adam Clayton is a good bassist, but Larry Mullen is perhaps one of the most boring drummers alive and 'The Edge' would sound distinctly ordinary if you took his pedals away from him.

I can understand both sides of the argument, but after 5 years in music journalism the most important lesson I can tell you all is that some people like bad music and are incapable of liking good music. I'm not saying U2 are bad, just that some people's minds can't be changed and it's really not worth arguing about.

Some of the most vocal people when it comes to live music have no idea what they're talking about (people who think the Black Eyed Peas are good live are a perfect example) and so it's not even worth engaging in a debate about. My approach now is to let the haters hate, and let the idiots enjoy their autotuned radio blandness.

Naaa, it's just the whole of Ireland follow them around the world.

and saying 'people that know' when it comes to music? lolz.

its clear you don't really know what your talking about.

I don't want to start an argument about different peoples opinions of Tine Tempah but I am a fan of his music and I have to be honest, the BBC ruined their coverage of his set. I completely understand that they aren't meant to have any bad language in programs before 9:00 but when taking out the swearing they blanked out the entire line containing the word, including the background music and he swears quite often, about 25% of each song was silence. I think if they were planning on this they should have just cut off the sound of his microphone, can't have been too difficult with some planning as it just made each song impossible to enjoy.
I have done a quick search on Sky and I don't see them repeating it at all later at night either.

Performances I have most enjoyed:
I really liked Jessie J but that little kid ruined price tag for me, I don't know why they did it really,. I mean she was very confident and wasn't completely awful but it ruined the song.
I only saw the encore for U2 and a little bit before, I liked it. I'm not a big U2 fan but like most of their big hits and I enjoyed what I saw.
Ed Sheeran has been my favourite so far, watched him on the BBC introducing stage and he did really well, got the crowd singing which I think is quite hard to do at Glastonbury where not necessarily everyone is a big fan and I think some of them were just in there to shelter from the rain.

Big Boi and Wu Tang clan were disappointing for me, don't know why I was expecting so much from Big Boi but I was a big Outkast fan and I think without Andre 3000, he is nothing really.

Tonight should be good, pendulum are probably one of the acts where you have to be there to really enjoy live but I am sure it will still be good on TV. I also enjoy Plan B and I am hoping he does a little more of his rapping as well as the stuff off the last album.
Also Beyonce :D:D:D:D:D:D Also in an interview Tinie Tempah mentioned that he had seen Jay Z backstage and there was a little hesitation from Fearne and Reggie as if this was meant to be a secret, I haven't heard any news about him being there? Possibly joining Beyonce on stage?

He was at the front with Beyonce watching Coldplay last night. Don't think it was meant to be 'secret' or anything, although I guess he'll probably show up during Beyonce's set tonight.
