Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of going for this pre-built upgrade;

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-176-OE

I've been a bit out of touch with the Desktop gaming scene for the past 3 years so bear with me as I have owned laptops and used them for gaming but I have now decided to move back to Desktop gaming. Is their anyone out there who has purchased this pre-built and if so, how has it been for you so far?

The only thing is, I'm not sure weather to stick with the GTS 450 card or take the plunge with the GTX 560? I would be mainly playing games like Black Ops & MW3 when it comes out later on in the year etc. Or would it be best to stick with the original GTS 430 card and upgrade the hard drive to an SSD drive instead?

Lastly, am I correct that the motherboard supplied with this build is the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P?

Thanks all - Liam

Do OcUK still offer the finance option if I choose the parts and order everything together?

Thanks - Liam

I don't think you can choose the finance option for anything on special offer such as This Week Only or Today Only.

I'm sure I've seen posts to this effect.

Yes:

Excellent, many thanks for all of your quick replies guys!

I take it that ASRock boards are reliable these days? The last I heard a long time ago that they were not all that good.

Thanks again - Liam

A lot of the products chris_holmes has chosen are on special offers.

You won't be able to put those on finance.

See my post above.

Yep I'm just deciding what other parts to have instead, could someone possibly re-post a basket with what I should get that are not on offer?

Edit - how does this look:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM

No oem as its not on deals and the 6950 is a better card than the 560gb especially when you get to the £200 price mark

retail is £6 cheaper.

Yeah, I'd prefer a 6950 2GB in there. Or a 570 2.5GB (dunno when they'll be available).

Yeah go for the asrock

I'd snatch the Corsair XMS3 8GB myself for £60.

I would put in the Silver Arrow cooler in there, but it's been removed from the list (unless I'm going blind). The Antec Kuhler performs better and less noise, although I suspect the H60 with free apache would redress the balance.

Or the DarK Rock Advanced, for a decent cooling and low noise.
