iphone 4 back replacement

Last week i purchased a white back piece for mine on the bay, and a green/black bumper.

Back is really easy to replace undo 2 special screws and it slides off then the new one slides on and your done =D

I'll try and upload a couple of pictures of mine tomorrow.

Heres a link to the back http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....17000&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2670wt_1163

and heres the bumper

If the above links break any rules i shall remove them.

That white cover looks real nice, would be interested in seeing some pics :)

Can even get front ones! :p

If so i may be tempted to rob my dad's iPhone and swap the covers and have myself a iPhone *White* :p

It looks like you need to change the digitiser if you change the front, which drives up the price. There are a very few selling the front without a digitser, but it seems rather suspect that 99% sell it with the digitiser.

Heres a few pictures of mine with the white back, you can get the front but as already said there more expensive and my guess would be not as easy to fit.

Sorry for the poor pics i had to use my webcam, i normally use my phone to take the pics but sadly it can't take a picture of it self ;P

Them pictures are quite hard to see! I can guess that it looks good though.

You know they are just thumbnails you can click on? :p

I seriously want a green iPhone 4. I'm very tempted to do a front and back replacement after looking at the disassembly guides. Long and fiddly but doesn't look massively complicated.

I could get a proper glass back and just a vinyl for the front to make it easy, but it would look cheap and the colours probably won't match.

The problem is with replacment parts sometimes it can be fiddly but with the back it dosn't look too bad. The front can be taken off with a suction cup if I remember correctly.

The colour transformation kits are not worth the price though but you can get metal/glass ones now.

The guides show you can prise the front off using a plastic tool, like a small chisel, even with the adhesive Apple use. I'd only do a full glass replacement, vinyls just aren't worth it IMO and I don't like the look of odd front and back covers.

The biggest problem is the numerous parts and screws/cables, but if you take your time it shouldn't be too hard from the looks of things. It's just being brave enough, and I'm still not 100% if it's worth it if a new iPhone is out later this year anyway.
