One word for this game = wow
Bought my PS3 2 weeks ago today and started playing this a few days ago, just began the shadow Moses chapter now and I am just deeply impressed by everything, as a big mgs fan that I am, I honestly cannot find anything to criticise, it is I think one of the best titles I have played, if not the best this decade, and I thought mass effect 2 had that title sealed, how wrong was I.
I love all the little touches like the flashback moments to the older games and appearance of old characters, excellent.
No real purpose for this thread, thought I'd just share my thoughts, actually I do have one question.
At the end of the game is it possible to go back and re-watch all of the cut scenes as you could do in MGS3?

No spoilers in the replies please guys :)

Sadly there isn't a theatre mode, what I did on a second play through was to create a separate save before each major cutscene.

I'm planning on flogging my 360 and picking up a 160GB Slim again very shortly and this will be the first game I pick up for sure. It's absolutely epic, I love the way it ties up some of the loose ends in the story and for some parts I was like "WOW".

The presentation is flawless, the attention to detail is amazing, the cutscenes are better than the majority of movies that I've seen, let alone other games. It's my second favourite game of all time and only Metal Gear Solid surpasses it in my opinion. The only criticism I have is that the game doesn't have trophies, but even that is sort of a blessing as there's no temptation to just do certain things for the trophies. :)

Welcome back (soon), think you're still a plus member at the moment too!

Feel a bit guilty for saying, but I've had this for eons and never played it! Absolutely loved Peace Walker, but have been put off of this by all the talk of it being all about the cutscenes. Must give it a go one day...

Thanks! :o

I am still a Plus member I think, but I'll more than likely make a new PSN account so I can start fresh. You'll be the first person I add! :D

Superb game tbh. First game that actually brought about some emotion in me. :p

[no homo]I actually shed a few tears in some of the cutscenes.[/no homo]

I got a PS3 about a month ago now and this was the first game I played through and it was fantastic. It was strange coming away afterwards and feeling like I'd watched an epic animated movie rather than just playing a game.

The only criticism I had with it is that I wasn't really motivated to use many of the weapons or gadgets.

bought this on release day finished it the next day played it pretty much non stop and WOW loved every single moment.
When I have some time I'm going to play it again from the beginning and go through it properly looking for everything

Still no trophy pack :(

EDIT: I know it's never coming out but still :(

I would recommend that. I hope you watched all the cutscenes too! If I remember rightly the final cutscene of the game was easily over an hour long. I loved it though. :D :D

I agree with you there, a lot of them didn't really serve much purpose. I was rather blown away by the choice of weapons to start with, but you soon realise it's just easier to stick with the M4 with all the attachments - nothing else is really any better.
