do any of you guys game at this resolution and do you guys find it any good for gaming, i have a X19W Advent Monitor that displays this resolution and i find it quite good but do you guys think i should definetly get a 1920 x 1080 monitor or is the 1440 x 900 sufficient.

i went from 1440x900 to 1920x1080 and couldnt go back, everything is so much clearer/crisp.

The only good thing about about low res gaming is you can turn loads of IQ settings up etc, without too much of a performance hit.

Totally depends on your hardware to be fair mate. I thought 1280x1024 was perfectly fine with my old 8800GT 512mb graphics card and dual core cpu yet going to 1920x1080 pretty much forced my hand into upgrading to a PC that could still play my games at the same settings but at the higher resolution.

What are IQ settings:o?

Are they like low, mid, high etc settings for textures, shadows,AA,AF etc?

image quality settings, like AA, AF, and with a 5850 you should be able to max every game at that res easy. Upping to 1920x1080 will provide a better gaming experience though IMO.

I Like my 1440 x 900 monitor but my q660 is only at 2.4 ghz will it be sufficient for 1920 x 1080

No i play everything maxed out with 8aa 8/16 af only thing low is shadows

I'd always go for max shadows with lower AA. At least then I'm 'seeing' everything. AA is the first thing I reduce if I need more FPS

I went from 1440x900 to 1920x1080, going back again just feels wrong, the screen looks so tiny and awful!

Q6600 is perfectly fine for that res.
