Ax850 Down or Up

i have an haf x case and my ax 850 is right now facing up the fan is facing up and my graphic card is in the x8 slot i have the p6x58d-e mobo is it okay to have it facing up? OR DO I need to change it and make it face down?

face down, to let it suck in cool air and exhaust it at the back.

think i can face it down with out hav ing to redo all the cable job?

Try it, but you may need to take out a few cables from where they're plugged in if it's a bit tight turning it around.

you may find this makes the graphics card hotter, as the PSU will be sucking away all that hot air from the graphics card. it will be better for your PSU though

Or it could be "stealing" cool air from the cards fan inlet, lowering the speed of the air passing though... I could be way off though

definatly down, gfx maybe a little hotter, but if you have sufficient airflow in your case, then you will see hardly any change at all

The Corsair AX series are semi-passive. Poor orientation and lack of cool air will cause it to overheat. The fan will kick in prematurely (well before 20% load) and could well ramp up to rather high speeds.
