Sigh, forgot how retarded people are at this game!

-Not healing team mates
-running about on their own
-raging FP with weak weapons
-raging scrake with weak weapons
-not working together to team up on choke points :/

Which is why they should stay on Normal, Hard at best :p

Its always funny to see Zerkers running around. Katana may be the best weapon towards the start because of its attack speed, but once Scrakes turn up, if you don't have a Sharpshooter for them, its all about the Fire Axe as its the only melee weapon capable of stunning them. Makes for a good laugh watching them try to take them on in melee in the belief that they must lose half there armour/health doing so :p

The panic when an FP appears is really annoying. The idiots who, the moment they see it, start shooting it on there own with an AK instead of shooting other stuff until it gets raged by someone who can actually damage it.

Makes me rage so hard seriously, can really spoil the enjoyment of the game :( I am pretty close to unlocking commando level 5, so jumping on normal servers to level up but like you say, that is where the majority of the retards go!

I just bought this because it's 50% off on steam and I am planning to play it with a group of friends.

The style of the game looks great, very dark and chilling.

Is this comparable to any other games? Left for dead is an obvious one, but how about CoD zombies?

What is recoil like on the guns?

Just buy it. :)

It's a simple blastfest at heart, but the amount of updates they keep pumping out is awesome. I bought it in the Christmas sales and just couldn't stop playing it my entire holiday.

They aren't zombies. L4D has 'infected' and KF has 'specimens'. 1 is the result of a virus the other is the result of extreme experiments with genetic modification.

To be honest, this is the way it is often sold to new people - and from the outside it does fit in with some of the basic ideas. Zombies, coop, fps, etc.

I agree that it's quite a different game hough... despite both being awesome :)

WOOOOOOO WOOOOOOO

Pedantic Police have been despatched. Please contact your legal representative ahead of time. :D

I assume calling them "Zeds" is in reference to "Zoological Specimens" rather than "Zombies", then?

To the general public, the infected in L4D and L4D2 are regarded as zombies -- just like the Infected in 28 Days Later, who went on to spawn further "running zombie" films that actually did use the reanimated dead rather than virus-infected humans.

It may not be 100% accurate, but there's no need to be so serious about it. :)

L4D and Killing Floor are very different games in practice, but it isn't a stretch to see why anyone who saw a bit of video footage or screenshots of them side by side would draw a comparison.

It doesn't make it any less incorrect. You might as well say the game is like TF2 because they both have a class system or like CS because they have a buy system.

Yes, as FT said, its often compared to it. But that doesn't mean people who know better should keep up that comparison when giving advice on whether to buy it or not... Theres no point saying 'its like L4D' when its not like it at all.

Agreed.

Okay well sorry for asking for comparisons, I was talking simply on a gameplay level and I now know what it is like. It is far more challenging than I imagined which is great, I wanted a challenge, however I joined a few servers with a friend and after every game (wipe) the others left.

I only played the new map and had no idea what the hell was going on and I'm sure the drink didn't help. I will pick it up again tomorrow when my other friends are able to play, then we can learn it together.

Good idea to start on Easy, but only for a few games once you get the hang of the controls, enemies, weapons and perks. Its simply too easy that it poses absolutely no challenge at all.

Normal should keep you busy for a while anyway.

Accept my steam friends request Evilsod (CAI) Wouldn't mind following you on some KF games if you are playing :)

The game is on the steam sale today for £3.74!!
The summer slideshow event is just soo funny and the new map is awesome, gameplay video if anyone is curious:

Got the achievement on this last night and loved it. The new level is really well made and theres a few really nice area's where you can defend as a team really nicely if you have a good mix of classes.

I noticed a few bugs in the map recently, though. People seemed to be falling into the floor and getting stuck there? That way they could just hack the specimens with Katanas while avoiding 90% of the damage.

It's also possible to get to the top of the "Test Your Strength" bell thing. Not so good up there if a couple of Husks appear, though. :D
