Spec-me

do we actually have figures to back up the theory that bulldozer will outperfom sandybridge, can someone link me to it please.

It might.

But if you are going to get AMD then just upgrade to Bulldozer when it comes out shouldn't you just wait?

If you have Sandybridge you could upgrade to Ivybridge when it comes out as well.

exactly for all we know sandybridge will still beat bulldozer lol

they are going 6/8 core, for all we know bulldozer is the chip that has mroe cores.. not the chip that has mroe cores + is loads faster :P

I don't understand how you could say bulldozer won't be a match for sandybridge. Bulldozer is going to outperform almost every single CPU out to date apart from things such as the Xeon's in dual on an SR-2 or the 980X clocked to the teeth. Ivy bridge however will deal with this.

I didn't say Bulldozer won't be a match for Sandybridge.

I said it may not.

I've not seen any tests or benchmarks which confirm this one way or the other.

He didn't say will not, he said may not. I don't know how you can say that it will out perform everything; you have no evidence.

Agreed. Nobody knows how bulldozer will perform but by whats rumored on the fact that they will be 8 and 12 core CPU's surely mean they will have a devestating amount of power within them.

But I do stand by the fact that Intel always has and always will be better for gaming. However I feel that AMD retains better for all-round use such as mild gaming, rendering, editing etc.

I never said I could prove it, nor did I say I have evidence. I said it based on the fact of what's been rumored as stated in my reply above.

lets just chill guys and not get into the sandybridge/bulldozer debate.
to OP just go with stulid's spec.

2 cores might help though as it will relieve stress off the others

Depends on the software you use. Personally I used fraps but I hate the software now because it essentially halfs your framerate. Use the beta of MSI Afterburner, Really great program.

Plus recording isn't that much of a cpu heavy job, just make sure you have some nice HDD space to record long clips :)
