Nothing wrong with HDR whatsoever, don't believe the BS about HDR being a part of photography that's usually rubbish. It's how you apply it and to what photographs!

Walk home after a night shift at work and they were setting up for the harry potter premier. Literally spend about a minute just before my bus was due to come. Happy with the results.

Set the camera to 6-8 seconds longer if you want and match up the F stop to get the correct exposure. Bingo.

I prefer some of the Church interiors you've done over the example above. There is a lot of awful HDR out there though. When a new user first installs software for HDR they should not be able to move any sliders more than -5/+5 for at least a month!
