Hello all :D decided that i need an upgrade from my trusty 3 year old Q6600 rig... :)

Budget: £1100 could probably stretch a tiny amount but not much :)

What I need: Not sure if i need monitors.. I currently have a 27" with 2x 15"s (one on each side of the 27") Really dont know how much 2 more 27 inch monitors would be, or if they would eat into the budget too much :)

Don't need a storage HDD but SSD would be nice if i would see a significant increase in performance :)

Don't need a Keyboard/mouse, don't need a sound card.

I think thats all, so i need the box basically :D

Also the mobo must have a firewire port (400 or 800) and should have 2 gigabit LAN ports :) (this is not 100% essiential but i would like it if possible)

Thank you and looking forward to the replies ;D

cheers guys :D

thanks so much :)

couple questions:

is that power supply of hight quality? I have never heard of lepa thats all

would i be able to attach another display to that mobo? (so 2 main displays off the 570 and then one off the board?)

cheers

sweet cheers thanks :)

also would the mobo be able to do SLI 570's if i decided to go that route at a later date? and would the powersupply handle 2 570's and an OC'd 2500k?

cheers

Yeah it should do, you could always spend something like 20 pound more for the 850w for peace of mind but 750w should be enough.

ok may do that :)

the silver appears to be out of stock :( are there any other coolers at the same sort of price which will do the job as well? :)

It should be in stock within the next week, that's what they told me. There isn't really anything that competes with the SA at that price level, the nearest rival, the Noctua D14, is around 15 pound more. You could always use the stock cooler and then order it when it comes in stock seeing how you don't have to worry about the extra in postage it would cost you.

Just a heads up though, don't order it when you order your other parts as it will hold up the order until it's in stock.

Btw, I accidently had the Blu-ay drive already in my basket when I specced you, you can save around 40 pound and get a DVD RW drive if you don't feel you'll use the Blu-Ray drive :).

yeh i was looking at the noctua i may be able to get that from somewhere for about £55 so i may go for that :)

I think i would use the blu ray drive so will leave that in actually so thank you for leaving that :p

Stulid:

Yes i do want to use them all at the same time, but not for gaming. I.e I wouldnt want to game across all three, but I would like to use them for other things while gaming.

So i would want to be able to game on the main 27" monitor and then have the othe 2 15" ones displaying facebook/msn/itunes etc :)

also just been looking at that mobo, and it doesnt have a firewire port :( are there any good z68 boards that do? :) i really need a firewire port for my audio interface as i do recording too :)

Isn't the connector under the red USBs a firewire port?

based on moothead2's suggestions, this is what I have come up with:

Any criticisms/objections/suggestions?
