Whichever is strongest take with you. As you've said, someone has tried to steal your bike. Its best to take 2 types of lock really but if only one, you want the strongest.

Mint pics Scott - so amped that you did the tracks, in stead of just sticking to all the "main lines", looking forward to seing some of your helmet cam vids.

I need some advice please.

I'm buying a canyon bike soonish and I can't decide between the nerve xc (120mm) and the nerve am (140mm back - 150mm front). My local trails are quite tame, however, 2-5 times a year I'll be going to the Pyrenees either on my own or with a biking holiday company (AQR, BasqueMTB etc.)

I know the xc will be fine for most of my riding but I really want something fun for the mountains, I'm just not sure if I'll notice much difference between 120mm travel and 140/150mm.

I'm 6ft5 and around 105kg (17 stone ish) if that makes any difference.

It'll be my first full suss so I have no idea how good the xc will be.

Cheers

Don't seem hugely different looking at the Geometry, AM is .5 degree slacker head angle, and only slightly longer. Spec looks pretty similar for each model too. Which model were you looking at?

Main difference appears to be the heavier weight of the AM and the price tag. And the travel of course.

Before dropping a couple of grand on either bike, is it worth looking at getting an extended test ride on one of them?

When I am in the market for a FS boinger thats what I'll be looking for, going to somewhere I know and riding the bikes back to back or on concecutive weeks to compare the two.

Chances are you would have to pay for the hire of the bike, but this would be knocked off if you went on to order one through that retailer...

On paper I would love a Specialized Camber FSR Expert but if I didn't get on with it or tried something else I liked better after buying it online I would be gutted!

If I was going to Europe I would hire a bike out there - Something like a Kona Stinky for £200.
Transporting a bike is too much hassle.
